Just a personal challenge to see how realistic I could make a 3D rendered face look. Certainly it wouldn't fool anyone taking longer than a half-second to look, but for now it's the best I can do.
Ooo--you did a nice job of disguising the biggest flaw with this render--that's it's a mirror flip--and thus, entirely too symmetrical for a human face--never mind someone as lovely as Ms Jolie! Were you consciously doing that--or was it just pure instinct?
Congrats! I bet this was fun to do! (Every so often, I start to wonder if I shouldn't learn to render, and start playing around with that sort of thing...and I have to remind myself that my obsessive nature means that IF it interested me, I'd get wrapped up in trying to be REALLY GOOD at it--and my photography isn't where I want it yet, so there's no room in my life for it. At the moment, anyway. Nor any real point in it, come to that...but it sure does look interesting! )

you know, I think that if you retouched the eyes to make them smaller, and made the nose slightly bigger, it'd look a lot like her. IMO the features have quite the right shape, but they're not correctly proportioned one to another.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Pink and randomness is an excellent combination. Throw in a cute fluffy bunny and you're all set to take on the world. ^-^
Also I don't think I've ever seen her smile and show her teeth, so maybe a closed lip smile or no smile at all might help
Since I have never tried to render, I don't really know what I'm talking about haha.
